At Kitepower you would be working at the cutting-edge of renewable energy technology and be part of an international multi-disciplinary team with partners across the world.

Job Tasks

  • Improving the control architecture of our system by modelling certain system components and in practice this will include coding in C++ and Python
  • Designing tests of the control architecture that can be performed in simulation or in the real system
  • Analyzing flight log data as input for controls design
  • Participating during flight tests where system and control parameters can be tuned live when new features are implemented
  • Taking over tasks of our software development and of our data analysis team

Job Profile

  • Degree in mechanical engineering / computer science, system engineering / process engineering / physics / mathematics / aerospace engineering
  • Affinity with modelling, control and simulation
  • Industry or research experience with control systems and mathematical modelling of dynamic systems
  • Experience in programming in C++, Python
  • Experience with system state estimation
  • Profound knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of closed-loop feedback systems
  • Advanced understanding of physics and mechanical systems
  • High degree of logical and analytical way of thinking
  • Experience with system identification and model validation
  • Fluent in English
  • Valid working permit for the EU
  • Passion for sustainability and making the world a better place

Extra Assets

  • Flexibility to take on varied tasks in a multi-disciplinary work environment
  • Some degree of hands-on attitude to participate in the testing program in the field (outdoor)
  • Knowledge of model predictive control for aeronautical systems
  • Experience in programming in C++
  • Experience with distributed software systems
  • Experience with numerical simulation of mechanical systems
  • Drivers license class B
  • Passion for kite/surfing/flying
