Throughout the coming seasons, Kitepower aims to initiate new operational sites inside and outside the Netherlands. The operations team is now looking for new passionate flight test engineers keen on advancing Kitepower’s field operations and contributing to the development of Kitepower’s commercial AWES. As a flight test engineer at Kitepower, you will play a key role in the organisation and execution of flight tests of the Falcon 100kW AWES.

Job Tasks

  • Plan, perform and evaluate flight tests of the Kitepower Falcon 100kW system
  • Monitor and control the Kitepower system
  • Perform quantitative evaluation of flight test results using our existing data analysis framework
  • Design and develop new data analysis scripts in python
  • Responsibilities in system identification
  • Contribute to validation of system models, simulations and control system
  • Supply test protocols and documentation to other departments
  • Handle and organize the equipment on the flight test site / Maintaining the flight test site
  • Training manager for new flight crew
  • Maintain operations’ ​hardware (launch equipment, cameras etc.)
  • Perform integrity checks on electromechanical equipment

Job Profile

  • BSc/MSc math, physics or technical engineering discipline
  • Self-driven and independent
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • Fluent written/spoken English
  • Data analysis in python
  • Clean and maintainable coding style in python
  • Quick learner with a proactive attitude and good ability to work independently
  • Good observation skills and ability to give reliable feedback
  • Available to work night shifts
  • Good practical technical understanding
  • Outdoor enthusiast
  • Drivers license class B
  • Passion for sustainability and making the world a better place

Extra Assets

  • Experience with data management
  • Knowledge of aerodynamics
  • Experience in handling/flying kites
  • Dutch speaking
