Kitepower meets sustainable farming
with Kaasboerderij MulderFebruary 10th, 2021
Kaasboerderij Mulder represents a great example of sustainable commitment: not only the farm produces its products (and raw materials) in a sustainable way, now it also hosts a Kitepower Falcon 100kW system on its own premises. The Airborne Wind Energy system, which is operated on a weekly basis for testing purposes, has been installed within Mulder’s farmland and it is coexisting with the farm’s field activities.
“I think Kitepower is an innovative company because it is working on a great project to impact the energy transition. This fits perfectly with our vision at Kaasboerderij Mulder because we are a modern dairy farm that makes cheese with a heart for nature. We are happy to contribute to the development of electricity-generating kites and hope to see the technology deployed worldwide”
farm owner Stefan Mulder
Mulder’s farm has already a history of engagement with renewables and several are the sustainable techniques used throughout the farm’s procedures, for example, 1800 solar panels make the farm completely energy neutral and mono-fermentation (a process that allows gas to be extracted from the manure of animals) is now also being closely looked at in order to assure 100% self-sufficiency. Kitepower’s Airborne Wind Energy is the latest addition to the farm’s sustainable ecosystem and we are proud to be part of it.
