As a kite technician at Kitepower you will be the main responsible for repairing all the textile components of our Airborne Wind Energy (AWE) kites. Moreover, you would be maintaining the textile workshop as well as creating and assembling Kitepower’s prototypes including series of auxiliary textile components.

Job Tasks

  • Repairing all components of a leading edge inflatable kite (textile, bladder, valves, bridle)
  • Perform acceptance checks on kites on delivery from factory
  • Do final assembly of new prototypes
  • Modify existing prototypes and make prototypes of all textile components of the Kitepower system
  • Make small series of auxiliary textile components (KCU cover, transport bags and other small items)
  • Maintain sewing machines (after in house training)
  • Take responsibility for textile workshop and monitor its functionality and completeness
  • Experience in handling/flying kites
  • Material stock management

Job Profile

  • Self-driven and independent
  • Good communication and organisation skills
  • Fluent written/spoken English
  • Training on industrial sewing machines (eg. tailor, sailmaker)
  • Experience with sewing machines
  • Good practical technical understanding
  • Passion for sustainability and making the world a better place
  • Experience in handling/flying kites

  • Availability for participating in flight tests
  • Experience in handling/flying kites
  • Dutch speaking
  • Driver’s license class BE
  • Passion for wind sports
