As a Mechatronics Engineer at Kitepower, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and reliability of our kite power systems. Your expertise in mechatronics, electronics, and electrical infrastructure will be essential for building test equipment for debugging existing electronics and integrating components. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the performance and efficiency of our innovative kite power technology.

Job Tasks

  • Define and implement test setups for the verification of components and subsystems
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in the current designs to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Design, develop, and prototype electronic circuits, control systems, and mechatronic components for kite power systems.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of mechanical and electronic components to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to existing designs, including schematics, PCB layouts, and assembly instructions.

Job Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge programming languages for automation, especially Python. Industrial communications protocols knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations for electrical and mechatronic systems.

Extra Assets

  • Familiarity with renewable energy systems, particularly airborne wind energy technology, is a plus.
  • Experience with battery management systems and energy storage solutions.
  • Proficiency in using CAD software for mechanical design.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition and sensor integration.
  • Experience in embedded software development.
